Assessment

State Assessments - There are many changes regarding state-mandated assessments in Wisconsin.  Please refer to the following link to view the state assessments that all districts must follow.
 

Note: Parents/guardians may request that a student be excused from participating in the WSAS, this request must be honored at grades 4, 8, 9-11, per Wis. Stats. 118.30(2)(b)3.  The parent must make this request in writing.  All students excused by parent opt-out are marked as “not tested” students in school and district reporting determinations.
 

District Assessment – The Shawano School District (SSD) administers the STAR Enterprise assessments in math and reading for the district assessment.  The district has been using the STAR Enterprise assessments for grades 2-11 since the 2014-2015 school year. Starting 2022-23 we will be using the STAR assessments for grades K-8 only. Please view attached link for the parent’s guide to STAR Enterprise.
